John Riggi, the first National Advisor for Cybersecurity and Risk for the American Hospital Association, represents more than 5,000 hospitals nationwide. A highly decorated FBI veteran of nearly 30 years, John draws on extensive experience from both the FBI and CIA investigating and disrupting cyber threats, organized crime, and terrorism. He provides trusted guidance to hospital leaders and federal agencies, frequently assisting healthcare organizations responding to ransomware attacks. He co-led the HHS Hospital Cyber Resiliency Initiative, which established the voluntary Healthcare Cybersecurity Performance Goals. A former FBI Senior Executive Service member and recipient of both the FBI Director’s Award and the CIA’s George H.W. Bush Award for Excellence in Counterterrorism, John is widely recognized as a leading expert and advocate for strengthening cybersecurity across America’s healthcare system.

Vinson is a retired military officer and a former technical director at National Security Agency (NSA) and has more than 25 years of information security experience in military, federal government, financial services and healthcare. He is a member of the International Council of Electronic Commerce Consultants (EC-Council) and was one of the organization’s first speakers at its inaugural global CISO executive summits.
